The Vita is dead. Or is it? Indie developers don’t seem to think so, and neither do I, as new games arrive on a near weekly basis. Just recently we saw ports of Axiom Verge, Civilizations Revolution 2, Risk of Rain, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown, along with the release of Day of the Tentacle Remastered, Stranger of Sword City, and A Virus Named TOM.
One of the biggest indie success stories is Drinkbox Studios’ Guacamelee, which topped PSN sales charts in April 2013. And tomorrow, Drinkbox is back with a brand new Vita exclusive — two words that are rare to hear nowadays — the colorful, violent, first-person kinda/sorta/not really dungeon crawler, Severed.
I’ve been excited about this one for a long, long time, so expect a review in the near future.
