P.T.-Inspired Allison Road Officially Cancelled

UK-based developer Lilith Ltd confirmed via Twitter a few hours ago that their P.T.-inspired horror title Allison Road has been officially cancelled.

This announcement came as a surprise to many, since Lilith Ltd recently decided to ditch their Kickstarter campaign in favor of a publishing deal with Team17 back in October. Team17 isn’t exactly a small fish, so I can’t imagine what went wrong.

Founded in 1990, Team17 is a bit of a publishing giant in the indie realm, known for The Escapists, Not a Hero, Beyond Eyes, OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood, the Worms series, and the 2D survival game Sheltered. They also picked up the publishing rights for the upcoming Banjo-Kazooie spiritual successor Yooka-Laylee.

I guess we’ll find out in the next few days why Allison Road is no more, but this is certainly depressing for all of us that were disappointed by Konami’s cancellation of Silent Hills and hoped to see its spirit live on in some way.

If you’re unfamiliar with Allison Road, check out its fantastic Kickstarter trailer here.
