After a reported leak of a retail poster (used for the header image above) publisher Warner Bros. has officially confirmed the existence of their DC Comics fighter Injustice 2.
In the CGI trailer above we see the new armor upgrade feature in action, as well as a handful of popular DC heroes (figuratively, of course) like Flash, Superman, Batman, Aquaman, and Supergirl. Aside from the expected returning fighters, Flash’s psychic villain Gorilla Grodd and Red Lantern’s Atrocitus will join the fray.
I love The Flash and can’t wait to brawl as Grodd. Hopefully the popularity of the show, along with Arrow and Supergirl, will open the door for other heroes and villains that some weren’t familiar with the last time around. Seriously, give me Diggle and Vibe already.
According to Kotaku’s reveal, you’ll be able to level up your fighters and upgrade their armor, which sounds great. Netherealm Studios has done a swell job of providing ludicrous amounts of content in their fighting games, and it seems that tradition will continue in Injustice 2.
Injustice 2 is scheduled for release in 2017, but I’m confident we’ll see more of the game at E3 2016 next week.
