Weekly PSN Sale Discounts Square Enix & 2K Titles

After an impressive E3 sale last week, PSN is now discounting various titles across the Square Enix and 2K Games libraries. As usual, sales run until the following Tuesday at 11am Eastern/8am Pacific.

If you’re interested in building up your collection of PS One Classics, notable discounts include Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Origins, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VIII, and Final Fantasy IX for $5 each. Parasite Eve, Parasite Eve 2, Front Mission 3, and Legend of Mana are available for $3 each as well, so there’s plenty of RPGs to choose from. All of these work on the Vita, which is awesome.

You probably noticed Final Fantasy VII was absent, most likely to entice consumers in to buying the PS4 port of the PC version instead of the PS One Classic.

On the PSP and Vita side of things, both DISSIDIA Final Fantasy titles, Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection, and Lord of Arcana are $7.49 each. Crystal Defenders, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, and Final Fantasy III are available for $4.99 this week.

The PS3 doesn’t get a whole lot of love here, with Final Fantasy XIII-2 at $7.49, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII at $9.99, and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster at $14.99. Mediocre hack-n-slash RPG Drakengard 3 is down to $9.99 as well.

The PS4 version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is a bit higher at $24.99, but the fantastic MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is available for just $9.99. If you want to go all-in, you can pick up the Collector’s Edition of the MMO for $19.99, which comes with a 2 in-game mounts, a vanity pet, and a leveling helm with an added +XP bonus at lower levels.

The 2K Games pub sale is a little more robust for current-gen console owners, with Evolve’s Ultimate Edition (which includes both Hunting Pass DLC packs) at $23.99, WWE 2K16’s Digital Deluxe Edition (includes all season pass content) at $35.99, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection at $23.99, Battleborn: Digital Deluxe edition (core game, plus the season pass) at $48.74, and up to 50% off NBA 2K16’s in-game currency.

There’s a handful of great PS3 titles as well, like Bioshock for $2.99, Bioshock 2: Ultimate Edition for $7.99 (Minerva’s Den is excellent DLC), Bioshock Infinite: Ultimate Edition for $9.74, Spec Ops: The Line for $5.99 (criminally underrated shooter), XCOM: Enemy Unkown for $7.49, and The Bureau: XCOM Declassified for $3.99.

It wouldn’t be a weekly PSN sale without some random discounts thrown in for good measure too.

PS4 MOBA Smite’s in-game currency is up to 50% off, sci-fi puzzler ALBEDO: Eyes from Outer Space is down to $5.99, campy b-movie inspired The Deadly Tower of Monsters is reduced to $10.49, and Velocibox is $6.24.

On PS3, 2D fighter Persona 4 Arena: Ultimate Edition is down to $14.84, JRPG Tears to Tiara II: Heir of the Overlord is down to $14.79, Catherine is only $9.99, JRPG Resonance of Fate is $9.99, NiGHTS: Into Dreams is $4.99, The House of the Dead III is $4.96, its sequel The House of the Dead 4 is $6.99, and a handful of other Sega Genesis classics (like Comix Zone and Toe-Jam & Earl) are discounted pretty well.

DJ Max Portable on PSP and Vita is down to $9.99, along with Earthbound-inspired RPG Citizens of Earth being dropped to $4.99 for the Vita version, but that’s all that’s remarkable on the handheld front.

Picking anything up?

There’s a few PS One Classics RPGs I wouldn’t mind having digitally on my Vita for a rainy day, but that’s about all that’s tickling the ol’ fancy for me.

        1. Oh I’ve played through FF8 2 or 3 times in its entirety, and it’s one of my favorite FF’s. I just like having all of these classics on my Vita “for a rainy day.”

I guess it’s my way of still being a collector, just not of the physical variety lol.

Parasite Eve 2 is… different. More of an action shooter and much, much less horror elements. I didn’t like the combat at all, but the story was okay. Worth a playthrough, and definitely worth the discount price.

            1. I actually started writing a post about being buried under my backlog, and when I saw how long the list was (of just stuff I want to play, not stuff I own just to own) I got a little depressed lol. It never ends!

I keep telling myself that one year I’m not going to buy ANY new games and just work through my backlog, but it never happens. I’m really weak when sales roll around, even if I don’t think I’ll ever get to something.

              1. It’s tough, and actually fairly new to me. I’ve only owned a PS3 for the past few years and a PS4 in the past month or two. It’s insane how many deals there are. And I’m trying to just play a handful at a time, but …yeah, I’m in the same boat as you. Too many games to play and be reasonable about, especially if I want to review them too.

                1. What I’m trying to do right now is narrow it down to the 10 games I want to play the most, and go through them.

Persona 4 Golden is what I’m going through right now, but Wind Waker HD, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Twilight Princess HD, Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted 3, and both Resident Evil remasters on PS4 are rounding out the top of the list.
