Xbox ‘Games With Gold’ for August Confirmed.

With less than a week until July kicks the bucket and August moves its shit in to our front rooms, the folks at Xbox have just confirmed next month’s Games With Gold incentive titles.

All month long, Xbox One owners can download the Dynasty Warriors spin-off Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. It’s not a bad game if you’re in to the musou genre, but if you are, chances are you already own it. Either way, it’s different from what we normally see through Games With Gold.

Beginning August 15th and running until the middle of September, last year’s WWE 2K16 will be available for Xbox Live Gold subscribers to pass the time until this year’s game releases in October.

Both games cater to a niche audience, but hey, both are also full retail games.

On the Xbox 360 front, roguelike platformer Spelunky will be available during the first half of the month, before being replaced by Beyond Good & Evil HD on August 16th. Friendly reminder that all Xbox 360 games offered through Games With Gold are backwards compatible on Xbox One.

A solid list of games overall, pending you don’t have them already.

I already play Spelunky over on my Vita and Beyond Good & Evil HD on PS3, plus I just bought WWE 2K16 and its season pass during a respectable Xbox One sale two months ago, so the only thing I have to look forward to is the musou. That’s fine, I enjoy them and I’m sure I’ll give it a go.

Thoughts?

    1. I think Xbox is getting higher quality stuff next month, at least as far as getting full retail games as incentive titles.

On the flipside, the only Xbox game I’m looking forward to is Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, since I have the others.

Through PSN Plus I know I’ll play Patapon 3, Yakuza 5, and Rebel Galaxy. I liked Ultratron a bit on Xbox One and it seems like a good fit for Vita, so I may revisit it for trophies or something.

I think it just boils down to what I do and don’t have already, but yeah, Xbox has been doing pretty good as of late.
