Nintendo Expanding List of $19.99 ‘Selects’ on Wii U and 3DS

Beginning August 26th, The Big N will be expanding their list of Nintendo Selects games across both Wii U and 3DS platforms. Just like before, these games will have their MSRP reduced to the more affordable price of $19.99.

Entering the Nintendo Selects program:

  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS)
  • Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (3DS)
  • Tomodachi Life (3DS)
  • nintendogs + cats: Golden Retriever & New Friends (3DS)
  • LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins (3DS)
  • LEGO City Undercover (Wii U)
  • Nintendo Land (Wii U)
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Wii U)

Nintendo will also be releasing new amiibo-focused bundles on September 9th at $39.99 MSRP.

These include Yoshi’s Woolly World, boxed with either the pink or light blue Yarn Yoshi amiibo, Mario Party 10 with Princess Peach or Bowser (a Mario bundle has been available since launch, by the way), and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, which includes the Toad amiibo.

If you’re one of the few that hasn’t yet jumped in to the realm of Nintendo’s current generation of handhelds, starting today Nintendo have reduced the MSRP for their 2DS + Mario Kart 7 bundle to $79.99.

There’s also a new New Nintendo 3DS bundle coming August 26th for $149.99, which includes a standard-size New Nintendo 3DS console pre-loaded with Super Mario 3D Land, along with 2 Nintendo-themed interchangeable face plates.

The Mario face plate is a bit generic. The Nintendo character collage, however, is pretty neat, if not a little on the busy side. It’s a shame they aren’t offering a similar bundle for the XL version though.

With the release of Nintendo’s new NX console looming in the distance, I expect to see more of these types of sales and price reductions moving forward. I’m honestly surprised New Super Mario Bros. U isn’t on the list yet, given that it’s a launch title.
