Firewatch Meets Twin Peaks in Virginia, Coming Sept. 22

505 Games and Variable State are taking us back to 1992, when a young boy named Lucas Fairfax mysteriously disappears from his bedroom. Inspired by the likes of Fargo, Twin Peaks, and True Detective, Virginia is an upcoming first-person adventure game in which you control the newly graduated FBI agent Anne Tarver on her trip to the secluded town of Kingdom, Virginia in hopes of locating the missing boy.

The low-poly look (and first-person viewpoint) is reminiscent of Firewatch and The Witness, while the odd characters and retro detective feel clearly show its Twin Peaks influence.

Those curious can check out a demo on PC via Steam, but PS4 and Xbox One owners don’t have to wait too long — Virginia should be available soon on September 22nd.

Thoughts? I love everything about this trailer and I can’t wait to play it.
