The purpose of this post is to help keep track of my game completions throughout 2017, in a rarely seen optimistic attempt at slaying the never-ending backlog. To topple a giant, you either stab it in the eye or hack away at its ankles. I’m… not really sure where I was going with that, but hey, #inspirationalquotes and stuff.

It’ll be interesting to see how this list looks at the end of the year. My primary goal is to avoid buying many new games at launch in favor of chipping away at the ones collecting dust on my shelf or digitally on my various console hard drives.
I guess we’ll find out on 12/31/2017 whether or not I stuck to the plan. Don’t fuck this up, future me!
Blowing up the backlog boss monster doesn’t help either. Good luck with your fight! I know future you will be proud of your accomplishments. :)

Four games in six days? Looks like a promising start!

Thanks! I’m in the home stretch in Persona Q on 3DS, maybe 5-10 more hours. Feels nice to knock out a meaty RPG! 2 of those games are barely two hours long though, haha. But hey! A game is a game, dammit!
Awesome Games Done Quick is going on this week though, and I watch it every year.. so that’s cutting in to my gaming time. I *love* watching speedruns and it’s on 24/7 for a solid week.

Ah there it is! I asked about the link in the other comment about this. Feel free to ignore that now :p I’ll bookmark this or just follow them. That’s freaking awesome. I might put it on while I edit or answer emails or something.

Congrats on beating Fire Emblem. Not buying stuff on launch day and focusing on your back log is a sound strategy. Games depreciate in value so quickly that it is worth having patience. Many times I buy something and within a month or two they are already on sale and available to snap up at a substantial discount.

Thanks! It was an incredible game that I’m glad I finally took the time to finish.
I find the price depreciation fact to be true with just about everything outside of Nintendo’s games, haha. 3 years later, their games are usually the same price. That’s the main reason I don’t mind buying Nintendo stuff near launch, because I’ll rarely (if ever) save money on them down the line.

Isn’t it so satisfying to list out games you’ve taken down?! Keep up the good work!
