Switch Player Wrap-Up (Week of May 1st)

Hey, folks! I just wanted to keep everyone up to date on what I’ve been working on throughout the last week over at SwitchPlayer.net. If you already follow my news antics over there, then I apologize for double-posting and thank you for your support! Or maybe I don’t. It’s a surprise, really.

1. Top 10 Best Sellers on the Nintendo Switch eShop for the Week of May 1st

  • This is pretty self-explanatory, but I basically compiled a list of the top 10 best sellers across the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, and UK eShops, followed by a brief analysis and instructions on how to access the eShop of a region outside your own. Spoiler alert: It’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

2. DNA Brawler Helix Enters the ARMS Arena

  • Here I highlight the recent addition to the ARMS roster, Helix (DNA Man in Japan, which is a much cooler name). This includes the teaser trailer from Nintendo and a brief analysis of the new bouncy-type weapon shown within.

3. Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is Headed to the Nintendo Switch

  • A beat-em-up sequel to the awful 1994 release Shaq-Fu is coming to the Switch at some point. This post sources an exclusive interview Nintendo Everything conducted with Saber Interactive’s CEO, Matthew Karch. There’s a bit more meat in the post than I initially planned, going into A Legend Reborn’s features and price, along with Saber Interactive’s upcoming projects on the Switch.

4. Nintendo Switch and Breath of the Wild Off to a Promising Start

  • I’m a sucker for sales figures. This post goes into Nintendo’s recent earnings report for the fiscal year ending March 31st, which confirmed the Switch is selling incredibly well for The Big N. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is clearly a system-seller, as it’s sold more units than the Switch itself. I’ll let you figure that one out. Surprisingly, the Wii U version has sold over a million units too. Estimated sales figures for Snipperclips, Super Bomberman R, and 1-2-Switch are discussed as well.

I do want to thank you fine folks for following along, as it means the world to me. I aim to continue these Switch Player wrap-up posts every Monday, immediately following my weekly Top 10 eShop Sellers post over there.

Enjoy the rest of your week, everyone!
