The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 3 is big enough to consume multiple weekends, let alone just one. So it’s safe to say that’s all I’ll be playing this weekend. I do have a few other reviews in the pipeline so I may start juggling things, but right now I’m 100% focused on the third game in Falcom’s incredible JRPG series.
I know this weekend’s wrap-up is short and boring, but hey, that’s just how the ball rolls sometimes when you’re knee-deep in a massive game.
I would like to use this opportunity to highlight a few things online that I’ve enjoyed recently. Maybe I’ll keep this up!
-First up, my good buddy Matt over at 3PStart reviewed one of the most popular horror games to release in recent years, Bendy and the Ink Machine. He’s (expectedly) been on a horror kick, reviewing the likes of Splatterhouse 2 and Dead Rising 3 as well.
-Next up, one of my favorite content creators and all-around swell person Hungry Goriya published a new video on her YouTube channel discussing the biology behind the NES classic shoot-em-up, Life Force.
-Former Super Best Friend Matt McMuscles dives deep into the crazy-ass story making the rounds about the apparently unauthorized release of Cooking Mama: Cookstar.
-In the non-gaming world, one of my favorite YouTube channels covering music is The Punk Rock MBA. Their latest video discusses why Pantera’s popularity exploded and how Phil Anselmo’s unfortunate, outspoken past has kind of tainted that over the years.
-And finally, another one of my favorite YouTube channels, Wrestling With Wregret, sees Brian Zane discussing WWE’s mass firings that occurred just a few days ago.
What about you, folks? What’s on your gaming agenda this weekend?
I am playing Langrisser 1&2. Just one trophy to go for plat. Also playing Azur Lane Cross Wave.

I finished the first Langrisser and saw some endings. Haven’t started 2 yet. Azur Lane is in my backlog too! How are you liking it?

I think the gameplay will be too repetitive for some. For me it is a good podcast game. I can level up waifus whilst listening to a show.

Yeah, with the story basically just… existing, I can see where it could be a good game to play while catching up on podcasts. Narm is best girl?

I miraculously found some time to play through two games last week and now the challenge is trying to find the time to write about them. (My schedule is topsy turvy with the virus scare as my regular paid gig is essential retail.) PROJECT WARLOCK was an interesting Rise Of The Triad like with some spiffy features. Meanwhile, BLAZING CHROME was the Contra like everyone described it as but there were some pros and cons in my experience over and under its inspiration. Hopefully, I’ll have some stuff up about them soon.

I like what I played of Blazing Chrome (thank you, Xbox GamePass). It did feel very Hard Corps, which won me over. I never finished it, though. It’s tough!
