Press X to Weekend: A Grab Bag of Sega Genesis Goodies and My New Saturn is Here!

I can’t believe it’s already December. What the fuck?

The last review on my to-do list was Clockwork Aquario, which went up last night. Now that I have a clean slate and nothing on the immediate horizon, I’m just going to dick around with some Sega Genesis games and probably watch some speedruns on YouTube.

I don’t have any specific games in mind for the weekend, but I did play a bit of The Adventures of Batman & Robin, Cadash, Arcus Odyssey, and (unsurprisingly) Robocop vs. The Terminator.

Yes, I named my Cadash character Ass because I’m still a child.

I forgot how brutally difficult Batman & Robin was as it promptly handed me my ass. It’s fun and I love the way it looks, but seriously… it’s so hard!

I’ve told this story before, but my favorite console of all time is the Sega Saturn. Back in 2001, I needed to move and sold my modded Japanese Saturn and all of my games to get out of that situation. I’ve regretted it ever since.

Yesterday, my replacement arrived. I finally bought the same model I owned back then and it even came with its original packaging. I couldn’t be happier!

This is such a special console to me (my favorite controller, the first console I imported games for, my favorite era in gaming) and I’m so glad to see one in person again. Now to slowly build my collection back — and I mean *slowly* because Saturn games are fucking expensive.

Anyway, here she is!

What about you, folks? Any big gaming plans this weekend?
