What’s Good, WordPress Games Blogging Fam?

Last night I was playing catch-up with my WordPress feed and found a handful of articles I wanted to share with the rest of you. The WordPress gaming community has been incredibly rad and I’m proud to be a part of such a welcoming, altruistic group of individuals who share this common interest of ours.

Chatting with fellow WordPress games bloggers via Twitter or our open-community Discord channel (shout out to Support Class!) has helped overcome writer’s block, kept the creative juices flowing, and, quite simply, provided hours of equally meaningful and absurd conversation.

Hopefully, you not only find the content hidden behind these links enjoyable but maybe you’ll find a few new blogs to follow in the process!

IRL: Two New Additions

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, no, my girlfriend and I did not have kids! I just did the 35-year-old adult thing and had a great date night that ended in getting my right eyebrow double-pierced.

That makes nine in the face, for those of you keeping score. I’m hoping to focus on tattoos next since I only have two and I’m running out of face to shove metal through, but there’s still one or two more things I’d like done (my bridge and one in the opposite eyebrow).

Sorry for the non-game related post today. Just thought I’d share a snapshot of my swollen eyebrow with the blogging fam.

Reblog: The Well-Red Mage Interviews Cheap Boss Attack

I had a great conversation with The Well-Red Mage over the last few days, which they just posted over the weekend. Aside from answering typical game-related questions, we also discussed blogging, how I came up with the name Cheap Boss Attack, and how awesome the WordPress gaming community is.

Give it a look!

DEATH MTN is Having a 50%-Off T-shirt Sale, and Their Stuff is Rad

The folks at DEATH MTN are having a half-off sale on all of their t-shirts, which are usually metal-as-fuck renditions of different video game fandoms. If you’re in to nerdy game-related shirts that are more on the unique side, I highly recommend checking them out.

Christmas Wrap-up

Now that things are finally starting to settle down and Christmas is over, I thought I’d share some of the neat stuff I was given. Sure, the holiday is all about spending time with friends or family and that’s what’s most important, but that doesn’t always make for an interesting blog post!

A Winner is Me: The Liebster Award

I’ve received a few Liebster Awards over the years, and I’ve always enjoyed using it as a tool to not only meet fellow bloggers, but potentially introduce my readers to other gaming blogs they may not be privy to.

So what exactly is a Liebster Award? It started off in 2011 as a way for bloggers to nominate other bloggers, as a way to both show their appreciation for the nominee’s work and to expand their social network among the blogging community. The word liebster is German for kindest, nicest, endearing, and most importantly, valued, so hopefully it makes a little more sense.

It’s Been Quiet, and Probably Will Be for a Little While

Between reviews I’ve been trying to post little tidbits of news or discussion pieces that I found interesting, but lately I haven’t been doing much of anything. Of course there’s a reason, though.

Those of you that know me outside of Cheap Boss Attack know that I’ve been spending most of the last five years helping my mom take care of my terminally ill dad. Unfortunately he passed away on Wednesday.

I’ll just say it’s been a tough five years, and I’m sure Cheap Boss Attack will be pretty quiet for the next week or so while I wrap my head around a (figurative) million different things. I currently have 4 games to play through for reviews, but they’ll just have to wait for now.

Thanks to all of you who’ve already poured in your support via Twitter or Facebook. It means a lot to my family and I.
