Smite’s Ultimate God Pack Bundle is Half-Price, Birthday Event Offers Massive In-Game Bonuses

If you’ve been keeping up with my weekly wrap-up posts, you know that I’ve recently gotten into Smite on PS4 in an attempt to battle my social anxiety. I’ve been playing around with the various freebies and rental gods over the last week or so, mostly enjoying Ra and Medusa, but man… Smite has a LOT of characters to pick from. A lot of characters that take a lot of time and a lot of in-game currency to buy.

It’s a good thing Smite is celebrating its 3rd birthday this week, then, since the Ultimate God Pack is 50% off until March 29th. Continue reading “Smite’s Ultimate God Pack Bundle is Half-Price, Birthday Event Offers Massive In-Game Bonuses”

Weekly PSN Sale Discounts Square Enix & 2K Titles

After an impressive E3 sale last week, PSN is now discounting various titles across the Square Enix and 2K Games libraries. As usual, sales run until the following Tuesday at 11am Eastern/8am Pacific.

If you’re interested in building up your collection of PS One Classics, notable discounts include Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Origins, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VIII, and Final Fantasy IX for $5 each. Parasite Eve, Parasite Eve 2, Front Mission 3, and Legend of Mana are available for $3 each as well, so there’s plenty of RPGs to choose from. All of these work on the Vita, which is awesome.

You probably noticed Final Fantasy VII was absent, most likely to entice consumers in to buying the PS4 port of the PC version instead of the PS One Classic.

On the PSP and Vita side of things, both DISSIDIA Final Fantasy titles, Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection, and Lord of Arcana are $7.49 each. Crystal Defenders, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, and Final Fantasy III are available for $4.99 this week.

The PS3 doesn’t get a whole lot of love here, with Final Fantasy XIII-2 at $7.49, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII at $9.99, and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster at $14.99. Mediocre hack-n-slash RPG Drakengard 3 is down to $9.99 as well.

The PS4 version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is a bit higher at $24.99, but the fantastic MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is available for just $9.99. If you want to go all-in, you can pick up the Collector’s Edition of the MMO for $19.99, which comes with a 2 in-game mounts, a vanity pet, and a leveling helm with an added +XP bonus at lower levels.

You can view the full list of Square Enix discounts right here.

The 2K Games pub sale is a little more robust for current-gen console owners, with Evolve’s Ultimate Edition (which includes both Hunting Pass DLC packs) at $23.99, WWE 2K16’s Digital Deluxe Edition (includes all season pass content) at $35.99, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection at $23.99, Battleborn: Digital Deluxe edition (core game, plus the season pass) at $48.74, and up to 50% off NBA 2K16’s in-game currency.

There’s a handful of great PS3 titles as well, like Bioshock for $2.99, Bioshock 2: Ultimate Edition for $7.99 (Minerva’s Den is excellent DLC), Bioshock Infinite: Ultimate Edition for $9.74, Spec Ops: The Line for $5.99 (criminally underrated shooter), XCOM: Enemy Unkown for $7.49, and The Bureau: XCOM Declassified for $3.99.

You can view the full list of 2K Games discounts right here.

It wouldn’t be a weekly PSN sale without some random discounts thrown in for good measure too.

PS4 MOBA Smite’s in-game currency is up to 50% off, sci-fi puzzler ALBEDO: Eyes from Outer Space is down to $5.99, campy b-movie inspired The Deadly Tower of Monsters is reduced to $10.49, and Velocibox is $6.24.

On PS3, 2D fighter Persona 4 Arena: Ultimate Edition is down to $14.84, JRPG Tears to Tiara II: Heir of the Overlord is down to $14.79, Catherine is only $9.99, JRPG Resonance of Fate is $9.99, NiGHTS: Into Dreams is $4.99, The House of the Dead III is $4.96, its sequel The House of the Dead 4 is $6.99, and a handful of other Sega Genesis classics (like Comix Zone and Toe-Jam & Earl) are discounted pretty well.

DJ Max Portable on PSP and Vita is down to $9.99, along with Earthbound-inspired RPG Citizens of Earth being dropped to $4.99 for the Vita version, but that’s all that’s remarkable on the handheld front.

Picking anything up?

There’s a few PS One Classics RPGs I wouldn’t mind having digitally on my Vita for a rainy day, but that’s about all that’s tickling the ol’ fancy for me.

PSN Flash Sale Features Deals Under $5

From now until Monday, PlayStation owners can dive in to a selection of PS4, PS3, and Vita titles for less than $5. There’s even a few PSP games thrown in to the mix!

What’s up for grabs?

Notable deals include:

  • The Banner Saga (PS4, no confirmation of cross-buy yet) – $4.99
  • Hitman Go: Definitive Edition (cross-buy w/ PS4 & Vita) – $3.19
  • ArcaniA: The Complete Tale (PS4) – $4.99
  • Don’t Starve: Console Edition + Reign of Giants (PS4) – $4.74
  • Don’t Starve: Console Edition (cross-buy w/ PS4 & Vita) – $4.49
  • Killzone: Shadow Fall (PS4) – $4.99

  • Rogue Legacy (cross-buy w/ PS4 & Vita) – $4.24
  • Sound Shapes (cross-buy w/ PS4 & Vita) – $3.99
  • Surgeon Simulator: A&E Anniversary Edition – $2.59
  • Terraria (PS4) – $4.99
  • The Jackbox Party Pack (PS4, PS3) – $4.99
  • The Jackbox Party Pack 2 (PS4, PS3) – $4.99
  • Transistor (PS4) – $4.99
  • Hitman HD Trilogy (PS3) – $3.99
  • Journey (PS3) – $4.49
  • Okami HD (PS3) – $4.89
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 (PSP/Vita) – $4.99

I picked up The Banner Saga and ArcaniA: The Complete Tale on PS4, and Hitman Go on Vita for around $13. I never finished Killzone: Shadow Fall, and $5 is a great price, but I was put off by its massive 40gb+ file size. Maybe another time.

World of Warcraft Expansion Warlords of Draenor Now Part of the Base Game

With the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion Legion scheduled for an August 30th release, Blizzard has decided to include the current expansion, Warlords of Draenor, to the core game’s $20 price tag.

That’s $20 for World of Warcraft and its Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, and Warlords of Draenor expansions, plus a free month of paid game time. Not bad if you’ve been on the fence for the last 12 years.

Blizzard is also offering a free redemption code for World of Warcraft to anyone who attends a screening of the upcoming Warcraft film, which releases on June 10th. You know, the film directed by Duncan Jones… the son of David Bowie? I can’t wait.
